ABOUT RELIQUE

Introducing Kate Geddes and Susan Singleton, both residents of Orcas Island, Washington and real artists in real life.
They have merged their artistic talents to create RELIQUE. This partnership came through their respect for each others artwork. Then they discovered a mutual, passionate love of fiber, textures, color and design.
Kate Geddes has extensive experience in clothing design and manufacturing in India. For over twenty years, she annually designed six complete collections of clothing and accessories including scarves and bags. She was known for her prints that were designed using cross cultural concepts with her own contemporary view. She sold to boutiques and many major stores such as Macy's, Nordstrom, Filenes, and Bloomingdales. Kate has a Bachelor of Science in Art Education from Edinboro University. She studied painting at the San Francisco Art Institute, these can be seen on her website www.kategeddes.com
Susan Singleton received a BFA in Textiles, a MFA in Fine Art, then taught art at the University of Washington for a few years. She is a painter and printmaker -- block prints, silkscreens, lithographs and etchings. Combining these techniques with her understanding of architecture, photography and computers, have led her to an exciting career. She designs and builds large scale, internationally commissioned artworks. Working with architectural clients and art dealers, she places work in hotels, hospitals, residences and commercial buildings. Examples can be seen on her website http://azoart.com
Last November Kate and Susan traveled to India. They reconnected with artisans and established the direction for RELIQUE.
RELIQUE is where contemporary global design meets traditional artistry creating something new... a sumptuous visual feast.
